What will I write about?
Each post will center on a deep dive within 1 of 3 themes, on a rotating schedule:
Cities
Music/media
World/culture
Besides that, stories, cultural analyses, and/or recommendations.
Why?
At the core of this publication is an interest in interdependency. I love piecing together what gives people spirit, from local coffeeshops to artistic inspirations. Things build on each other more than we know.
I think that I have learned to develop opinionated tastes, but I owe it to the world, to history, to it all. I’d like to illuminate some of the delights that I enjoy (many of which are underrated) in digestible, processual ways.
Kneeslapper principles:
Spice up modern modes of everyday, follow-the-crowd, surface-level consumption.
Get people to think, “Oh, that’s cool.” (i.e., learn out of curiosity)
Don’t take things too seriously (hence the title).
When?
Regularly enough.
Who am I?
Steph (she/her). 20-year-old based in Ohio + New Jersey (2 superior states, indeed). Currently in software engineering, but my heart lies in the arts.
